Post subject: 320gb SATA hdd only showing as 127gb with Vista

Hi, First post here. I bought a Seagate Barracuda 320gb, 7200 rpm SATA hdd last year for a PC I was building. For that PC, I used Windows 2k. The drive would only show up as aprox. 120gb no matter what I tried, even downloading updates/patches that were supposed to fix the issue.

Well now I have an HP notebook and wanted extra storage space, so I bought an external enclosure for an SATA hdd, and will work with usb or direct sata. I plugged it into my notebook (running Vista Home), and it still only shows up as 127gb! I tried formatting the drive, did an error check, and everything seems fine...except that I'm missing over half of my drive.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd very much appreciate it.

Jim
