I bought A 965P-DS3 and it would not boot up - no beep codes no video
output, but fans did spin-up. I asked Gigabyte what was wrong and they said
it was either the mother board or processor. Got a new processor, fault was
the same. Sent mother board for testing and motherboard was unservicable.
Got a new motherboard and the fault symptoms were exacty the same.

Has anyone else had problems with the 965P-DS3 motherboards?

Tom

No; in fact, it's been one of the very best Core 2 Duo motherboards.

Very early firmware releases were very sensitive to the memory being
used and would not work with a LOT of memory. But this was fixed back
around revision 4 or 5 of the firmware (current firmware is revsion 10
or 11), and it's very unlikely that you would have this issue today.

Mine has been working perfectly since day one.

Is it possible that your Power Supply could be zapping the board?

Hi,

Disconnect USB rear bracket and be sure that the POWER SWITCH little
connector is correctly plugged on the right pins.

Turn the power supply switch OFF for a while (or remove mains cable) and
then ON again (or replug the mains cable) and start the PC.

If everything is correctly inserted, it will boot.

Regfards.

Andre

Its your memory... any ram that requires more than 1.8 volts is problematic
to boot..

I had the same issue... I bought that OCZ Camoflage Ram... I think it is
1.9v... I finally got the MB to boot with one stick installed, then I upped
the RAM voltage in bios to 1.95v.., then installed the other stickof RAM.
It works like a champ now.

The problems with the GA-965P motherboards and memory were resolved
almost a year ago. Once you got to the revision 4 or 5 bios, it wasn't
an issue.
