Is anyone running a newer 8x video card in an older motherboard with a
2-4x agp slot. The new card says it is 4-8x. I'm getting the run
around between ASUS and ATI

I did it (Radeon 9800 pro), in my BIOS I had a setting to force AGP to
4X only (else it crashed in 8X). The card worked very well.
