I'm looking for some feedback on experiences using this board with
various operating systems. I had some issues with this board and
Windows 95 and wanted to make sure it would support RedHat Linux 8.0,
free BSD, and/or Win2000/XP. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

PS: It's a Slot A Athlon board, if that makes any difference.

Scott
I'm using my SB61G2 Pentium 2800 with Windows XP SP1. It seems to work fine,
but I experience some problems with the USB part of the machine. The USB
ports at the back work fine, the USB2 port at the front won't work.
Questions to Shuttle won't help, they simply do not respond until now. The
Shuttle is equiped with serial ATA, Occasionly it will not boot, telling me
there is no harddisk. Two or three retry's will do. I thnink this is not
windows but the bios and/or hardware and/or drive.
Further it works perfect, with hypertreading active in XP.
I read articles in this newsgroup from people with similar USB problems.
They went to Windows 2000/SP4 wich solved it.
My Shuttle is two months old.

Regards, Rudi

I used Win98SE and then upgraded to Windows ME a year ago with no problems;
I have contemplating going to XP. One problem I have had was trying to get
a
40 gig drive to work and it will not recognize it on the second channel. I
have
a 10 gig on the first channel. What size drive do you have and do you know
if
this board is limited to smaller drives?
