the B: drive? - so whats the deal with it? is it gone for good? is it going to be used for something else? If I install a DVD, can I use it thru the B: drive? It seems 1.44mb A: floppies are disappearing as well. With Syquest, JAZ and ZIP gone, and LS-120, Orb and Shark...

Is my drive trying to tell me something? - I just got a (used) IBM Deskstar 120GXP (40GB). I noticed that on a regular but random and very brief basis, it makes a sound I've never heard from a drive before - kind of a tearful whining sound, like as though the drive is crying. It is otherwise dead...
Drive A Not Drive A?? - Hi I just got an old IDE zip 100 drive. On the back, it's label for the jumpers is split into 2 boxes, labelled "Not Drive A" and "Drive A". Each box shows three different jumper settings for how to set the drive to slave/master/cable... |
