When I installed NERO 6 it insisted that I install Directx9.0a. Of
course the current one is b, so I did that. This killed my TV Tuner
controls - it was stuck on one channel. Everything was working OK
until the Directx thing!
So, I downloaded MMC 8.8 and installed it (of course you have to
uninstall the 8,1!) GuidePlus and DVD disappeared. I reinstalled them
from the original install disc, and GuidePlus works, but is no longer
on the Launchpad, neither is DVD. It did keep my channels, but
everything else had to be set up from scratch.
I wonder who writes these install things for ATI. Of course there's no
help anywhere except here in this group. >> Stay informed about: AIW 9000 Install Problems |

Can't help on Guide-Plus, it is not on my launchpad and I don't remember it
ever being there.
On the DVD player, there was no reason to uninstall it (been there, done
that, wish I hadn't) however once you uninstall it
you will have to reinstall it either from the original CD that came with
your 9000 or from the download area.
Depending on what you downloaded, either the DVD is not included or you
would have gotten a message that you needed the
original CD to finish its installation.
Even if you get it from the download area (my recommendation) you will have
to have the original CD in order to reinstall.

I THINK if you use the CD, go to the gemstar directory and reinstall it now
it will be recognized by the launchpad. That is NOT the case under a CLEAN
install as there's really no reason to re-install it if it's working
correctly.
I only know this as I went through hell getting mine to work.
