I just got an old Shuttle AK31v20 motherboard, and it seems nicer than what
I have.
However, I've only read that it was made for the ol style Athlon/Duron CPUs,
and BIOS updates added compatibility for Palomino Athlon XPs, but I have
seen anything on Tbred (A or B) Athlon XP compatibility.
Anyone know if it would work with my Tbred Athlon XP 2000+?? >> Stay informed about: AK31 v2.0 compatibility with Tbred Athlon XP 2000? |

I have the same motherboard running an XP 2000+ for over a year with no
problems. This board will handle up to an XP 2100+ with the proper BIOS
flash.

The question is will it make a difference if it's a Palominio or T-bird cpu?
The Palominos are older and use the .18 die. The T-bird is .13 and those
are not listed in the board's documentation.

different motherboard related forums have lots of people with AK31's and the
..13 micron Tbred CPUs running on them.
my .13 Tbred A XP 2000+ worked fine on my AK31 2.0.
check out the Shuttle section at:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.amdforums.com/" target="_blank">http://www.amdforums.com/</a>
you'll see lots of people with AK31's running them with .13 Tbred Athlons.
