Just to let anyone know who may need to, I couldn't get Windows XP to
install with DDR modules in slots DIMM1 & DIMM2. I took one out to complete
installation, put it back, and Windows would not boot. Finally figured out
that with the second module in DIMM3, all was well. This was using Mushkin
PC2100 HiPerf Black 256 MB. Have never seen this behavior in a mobo before;
anyone else?

I am having a terrible time installing XP with this mobo. I had a bad stick
of DDR RAM and replaced it. I have swapped out the video card, hard drive
and removed sound card, modem, disabled onboard, LAN, sound, serial,
parallel, and usb and still can't install XP. I am about to give up and
never try an AMD system again. I have been working on PCs for over 10 years
and this one has me stumped. I have a 180 day XP Pro CD and also a Win2000
CD, so I will try them next. But lots of errors during and after install.
I have never had this problem with Intel CPUs and Chipsets.

AK39N feedback - This is just an "in general" topic question; Other than removing the jumper on the board to bump up the FSB to 266, does anybody have any suggestions or "discoveries" on how to increase performance on the AK39N board? I got a stick o...

All you AK39N owners... - I just checked the Newegg prices for the AK39N. Newegg has the AK39N listed at 266/333FSB (they used to list it at 266 tops). If you go to the Shuttle website they still have the 39N as topping out at 266FSB. I can't understand how it could be a typo o...

AK39N, doesn't recognize the bus freq - I just replaced a burned out mobo and power supply with a new AK39N. All seems well except the mobo recognizes the CPU as 100mhz and it is 133mhz AMD 1000. When I go to the frequency setup in bios it only lets me change it to 132, not 133. Is that OK?...
