Hi,
I got:
- mb ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
- cpu P4 2.8 HT FSB800
- graph Gainward GF4 PowerPack! Ultra/750-8X TV SE
- memory 2x512 DDR400 Kingston HyperX CL2 NonECC (KHX3200/512)
- hdd serial ata Seagate 7200.7 ST3120026AS (120GB)
- power supply 300W
- 1 optic drive: cdrw
the problem is that system restarts itself! (sometimes it's just turn off)
i've changed cpu, mb, mem, power supply but it's still going down sometimes
prime 95 torture test shows hardware errors after 10-15minutes
(is it good tool to test hardware?)
--
temperature and voltage after few hours:
CPU: 34C/94F, MB 31C/86F
Vcore 1,552-1569
3.3V 3,264-3,280
5V 5,107
12V 12,281-12,342
Can You help me? What else can I do? How to configure BIOS?
Thanks,
Mark >> Stay informed about: ASUS P4C800 - problems! |

You're overclocking this? Then you probably need a stronger powersupply, or
at least one with separate +5 and +12V circuits. I'd recommend something
like the Antec TruePower 430W, which should last you a long time. If you
want lower power, their 330W is also way better than most 300W "generic"
power supplies.

But I'm not overclocking it! This problem is even if memory runs DDR266!!
I've changed power supply once more and it's working good, but Prime95
still shows that something is wrong with hardware

Do You know any good benchmark to test it? Prime95 is good?

Prime95 is a good test for stability, especially tough on memory.
To see if ram is the culprit, try raising the timings to something like
3,4,4,8. If you still get errors, test the sticks one at a time or in
alternate slots -- if you are using 1 and 3, try 2 and 4 or vice versa. You
can also try raising the DDR voltage just a little.
I also wonder if those temps are accurate. 34C is very low for a P4, even at
idle. It is not an unreasonable temp for the case sensor.
Spontaneous reboots are usually a sign of problems with ram, poor cooling
or, as others have suggested, an inadequate power supply.
