First off thanks for looking at this. And off we go:
I have an AV49N mobo. 3x512 MB PC 2700 RAM. P4 2.4 CPU.
I had a Geforce 3 TI-500 AGP card. The ball bearings on the fan gummed up and
the video card overheated. Even the label on the fan had turned brown from the
heat. My computer would reboot or lock during certain games (Max Payne, SS:TSE,
etc)
I replaced the fan on the Geforce, but some anomolies and lockups/reboots still
occured. So I replaced the video card with an ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 9800
Pro. Unreal 2 ran fine at max settings, but Max Payne rebooted my box.
I'm wonder if I have the most recent correct bios and drivers. !!OR!! maybe my
AGP slot is burned and I have to replace my AV49N.
My BIOS is AV49S00L. I can't understand the shuttle site, so I don't know if I
need the AV49 BIOS upgrade or the AV49V/N BIOS upgrade. Does V/N mean that I
should use that, or does it mean that it's for a AV49V/N BIOS? Ya know, a
little naming conventions would rock right about here...
So, basically, I have no clue if I even have the correct drivers installed, and
I don't even know if my BIOS is correct. I have the option of replacing my mobo
because of possible heat damage. But maybe I just have the wrong buss drivers
installed.
Can anyone help me? Male at
