I'm installing the new board with P4 2.80 ghz processor and have been unable
to get the system to powerup. I've tried all the normal things; check
cables and connection, etc. but only get the amber light on the mainboard.
Does anyone have a suggestion.

Make sure you have a pentium 4 compatible power supply (two power
connectors) with at least 300 W output . Then try removing one device
/cable at the time until only the cpu,cpu fan cable and the power button
cable remains , If it still refuses to boot it's RMA time .
Good luck
