I was wondering if there was a set of motherboard type drivers designed
specifically for the motherboard to be used in Windows? Or are the drivers
Windows uses the best (Only) ones to stick with?

Just looking for a speed improvement I suppose

Thanks

Nothing special with ax6bc. It is an Intel BX chipset board.

If you add a pci harddisk controller, per example a promise, you will
gain substantially better harddisk speed with a 7200 rpm modern
harddisk, and the bios of the controller take care of the size, if it
is a big one.

A bios update can be necessary for booting via a promise controller.

Note that the aopen flasher exe file requires a lot of conventional
memory, so booting very simple on an old dos 5 or 6 can be necessary.
