Changed my Soyo Fire Dragon to the Abit IC7-G w P4 3.2 & Corsair Ram.
System uses a removable drive bay (one drive, no "permanent" drives).
I have 3 swappable drives, all with bootable Win2K partitions.
The new mobo will boot the WD800 fine and Win2K starts up. But when I
try the WD600 or the IBM Deskstar 75GXP, the mobo IDs the drives
correctly but I believe it isn't setting up the geometry correctly.
It stops after the "Boot from CD" prompt. Sometimes I'll get the "NON
SYSTEM DISK" message. When booting to DOS, the drive is not
available. When I run Partition Magic, PM complains that the drive
was partitioned using a different geometry than its present geometry
settings.
I've checked and all drives are configured as master. I have
installed the current Abit BIOS v17.
I'm out of ideas on how to get these two drives recognized correctly.
