I have just upgraded to a new Gigabyte 7NF-RX Socket-A nForce2 (400
FSB) motherboard, and now my chip only runs at 1000Mhz.

The memory is 266 which i bought with the processor many years ago.. I
have changed the bios to run at 133 (effectively 266).. but it still
runs at 1Ghz..

Any ideas

if you have the FSB at 133MHz, then the multiplier has to be set to 7.5.
7.5x133=1000MHz.. Set the multiplier to 10 for the proper speed. You must
have a cpu with the L1 bridges closed, either from the facory, or post
factory.

Is the the CPU FSB or the memory clock - if you are runnung an Athlon
Thunderbird "C" 1333 with DDR266 on an Nforce2, then the FSB and RAM
should be at 133 synchronous (1:1).

Is ther a FSB lock jumper on the motherboard - some boards had a force
100 FSB setting.
