This is my configuration:

Athlon 3200+ (actualy 2500+ - 11x200)
2x256 DDR 400Mhz RAM
Ati 9200 128MB (AGP4x)

I get only 6500 3dmarks 2001.

What's wrong?!?

What's wrong is the card. 9000/9200's of any kind are a complete POS for any
3D work. My setup is exactly like yours, 2500 running at 3200 spec, 2 x
512Mb Dual Channel DDR, Radeon 9100 128 Meg. Just ran 3dMark01SE and got
10233, 10087, and 10166 in 3 runs.A Radeon 8500 or 9100 will outperform any
9000 or 9200 because they are basically crippled processors with missing GPU
functions and pipelines. 8500's and 9100's are DX8 just like the
9000/9200's, but have better architecture. Cores are 250-275Mhz, and DDR
runs at 450-550Mhz. 9100's are fairly rare...they're just a rebadged 8500.
Have no idea why Radeon chose to classify the 9000/9200 as "9000" series. A
more accurate descriptor would be "Radeon 8000/8200". Do yourself a favor
and pick a 9600 Pro....then you'll see some impressive numbers.

Judging by your spectacularly low benchmarks, I would guess that you have a
9200SE installed. "SE=Shitty Edition". To put things in perspective, I just
built a system for a buddy...Barton 2500 running stock, Soltek Nforce2,
1x512Mb PC3200 and an MSI FX5200 128Mb DDR card. All the latest NForce and
Detonators installed, this baby gets a screaming 5400 in 3DMark 2001. So the
bottom feeder NVidia cards are crappy too. You can expect a GeForce4 MX 440
to bench better than your 9200SE.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

OK...It doesn't matter anymore. I'll buy 9600XT next week.

P.S. My 9200 ISN'T SE version. It's a normal 9200 version with NO
sufixes....<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

You may want to spend the extra and get the 256 MB version instead of the
128.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

My missus has very similar machine, Soltek mobo, Barton 2500+, although
running at 3200 speed, and an FX5200.

She gets 5,585 Marks in 3DMark 2001SE.

I have my TbredB 1800 running at 2.1Ghz (same excellent Soltek SL-75FRN2-L)
and a ti4200 and get 11,912.

Yes, the FX5200 of any variety is a total POS. The one I was recently
benching was a DDR version. God know what the SDR version does. Probably
3500 or so. My GeForce2 GTS Ultra beat it's 3DMark score by 1350.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

No no no please don't! (only if there is no price difference you could try
it).

You see really no difference at all, even at 1600*1200 with 4x FSAA and 16x
Anisotropic filtering, and a mid-range card like the 9600 XT is too slow to
be able to bring good FPS at those settings anyway.
