Post subject: Is my ABIT BH6 DEAD? Can it be SAVED? HOW?

Is my Abit Bh6 1.0 dead? Can it be saved? How?

Previous condition:
-Worked flawlesslessy for long time as I've upgraded thru the years

Present condition:
-power lights do come on
-no beeps though
-power supply fan does comes on
-cpu fan comes on
-keyboard lights flicker on as usual
-screen remains black - absolutely nothing at all
-both Hard Drives do not whirr at start up
-reset button does not activate, won't work
-won't turn off -must use power supply kill switch

-tried switching Power Supply -no change
-tried switching cpu -no change

Win98SE
CPU: Celeron 1.3Ghz using Powerleap Slotket
RAM: 384Mb of 3x128 Samsung, other?
Graphics Card: Aiw128 16MB PCi
Power Supply: 250W NSpire
Storage: WD200GB, WD 250GB, HP burner, CDROM

Very likely a bad capacitor problem. Saving it would cost more than
buying a faster (used) replacement.

What about the bios? Or any recomendations for cheap replacement
motherboard that would fit same CPU, DIMMS, etc ?

nothin. Although frequently changing out hard drives, hadn't changed
harddrives or anything for couple months before it died... Had a bad
RAM stick I changed out about a year ago.

Hmm... that's rough. Probably a good thing all the caps these days are
solid.

Inspect capacitors. If bulging or leaking, that is likely the problem.

Unplug all but bh6, cpu, mem.

Reseat/Rotate/swap memory modules.

Swap video cards.

Etc, etc.
