Post subject: Benefit of LCD-TV Over LCD Monitor for Gaming?
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>video (more info?)

I hardly watch TV or movies at home, so the only reason to buy an LCD TV
would be for gaming. I plan to buy an Xbox 360 in the future but I it can be
used with PC monitors. I'm not into huge display craze. Everything looks big
enough for me on my SONY 23" wide screen LCD monitor. However, due to its
1920x1200 resolution, I have to stretch images for many games, which results
in slightly degraded image quality. Or, I sometimes don't stretch games and
play them on the central area of my monitor. My PC is pretty powerful for my
general needs, but games slow down at 1920x1200.

So, my guess is that I could get a small LCD TV with a 1366x768 resolution
and play my games in their full visual glory without taxing my PC. Or,
should I simply buy a 19 or 20 inch LCD monitor whose resolution is lower
than 1920x1200 and play games on it?

not all lcd tvs will display a pc input at it's native resolution - it may
only take 1024x768 - even though it's resolution is 1366x768 - and for pc
use that will = blurry.

so check before buying.
