Bizarre problem

Nikon camera/Win 98SE/Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition

When we pull photos up directly from the card they look a little lighter
than when we upload them to the computer first and then view them. Also, we
have two computers networked together, both running the same Adobe
PhotoDeluxe software. When we pull up photos on one computer they look
considerably lighter than when we view them on the other computer.

Now, here's the bizarre part: One would think it's just the monitor of
maybe even the video card, but when we print to the same printer using
either computer, the photos that appear lighter on one computer also print
lighter than photos printed from the other (darker) computer. Same file.
Same software. Same settings. Same printer.

Anybody have a clue as to what's going on here? I've never seen anything
like this before.
