Has anyone here ever built a laptop computer? If so, where are any
places that sell the housing for said laptop? Would this be a
ridiculous thing to do? I have built regular desktop computers before
and now I am wanting a laptop and am wondering if it has been done and
where I can infor about such things?

Thanks in advance.

it would be a ridiculous thing to do
Laptops are not sourced as components and built by resellers in the UK like
PCs are - they are bought complete with only minimal changes done in the UK
"factory"

What has that got to do with me wanting to build a laptop here in the
United States. I am not in the UK so that country has nothing to do
with us.

You could probably order the individual parts, all for the same specific
laptop, and it'd only cost you about 4-100X as much to build as buying it
whole.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I found most of the parts and actually they are much cheaper than I
thought they would be. This is only a thought I am thinking about, but
I may buy a white box form of notebook so I can have universal parts
and such in it.

Obviously nothing. Those UKanians drive their laptops on the
left, wear out the 'u' key when typing, and have to spend pounds
of cash for their machines. You, on the other hand, obviously
know everything and have no need of advice from such an isolated
and ignorant country. When is your book on manners coming out?

Building your own laptop would be like building your own television set. It's
easier to just go out and buy one.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
