Hi all,

2 weeks ago I have bought the Asus M2V motherboard.
I was wondering why the pinout of the COM1 serialport is not listed in
the manual, since I have not the backplate for it (it was not in the
box).
Can anyone help me out please? (have looked in the ASUS forum, bot no
answers yet).

Thanks,

André

The same header pattern seems to be used on Asus motherboards
for the serial port, for the last couple years.

The Intel-AT-Everex pinout is for Asus boards.

DTK is an alternative pinout, and one that people
buy by mistake.

On this web page, the author of this page figured out that an
AT-Everex pinout is needed.

If you live in the USA, you can buy one from Asus.

Ebay might be another source.

Here is another reference page, with the Asus serial port pinout
as their standard configuration.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for this info. I do not live in the USA, but in Holland.
I have somewhere an DB9 connector from an other motherboard, wich I can
modify.

Again, thank you for this info.
