I have an AOpen AX4BS Pro motherboard. The spec is:

CPU : Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 400MHz (Northwood)
Chipset : Intel 845S, Intel ICH2
Main Memory : SDRAM DIMM x 3

Does this mean that a 533MHz CPU will not work?

Can anyone suggest what I have to look for when buying a CPU?

Yes, I seen this at:

<http://club.aopen.com.tw/testreport/mb/cpu_supported.asp?TestFunction=494&Model=484>

but I wasn't sure if this meant that 533FSB CPUs would work or not.

From what I can see, 533FSB won't work with that board, but you may want to
look in the BIOS updates to see if they have an update. It happens
sometimes.
