Yeah, dust is a pretty good insulator. The temperature is consistent with
the documentation from AMD. I think they say it'll run properly up to 70 C,
but that's gotta reduce the lifespan of the CPU.
Also, my computer is always running Seti-at-home, which is an intensive
operation. Without that program running, it idles at about 52 C.

That's adequate ventilation, in my opinion. But I've seen a lot of people
build custom computers with the cheapest case they can find, and the only
fan it comes with sometimes is the fan for the power supply. That is NOT
adequate ventilation.
You've got to have at least the extra fan drawing the air directly away from
the CPU (this one is available in almost every ATX/mini-ATX case I have seen
with the exception of some OEM's). I like to have the additional fan
drawing cool air in from the front. And if you can, it's a good idea to
have a slightly positive pressure in the case, to prevent drawing dust into
your drives (CD-ROM, floppy).
