I've bought a Canon A530 Digital Camera. I've put batteries ( I'm 100% sure
that they are OK and in right places (+/-) ), a memory card that came with
camera and pressed ON. It doesn't work!!!
I've tried with other batteries and accu, with and without memory card
Have You got any idea what's wrong? >> Stay informed about: Canon A530 problem |

Are the batteries re-chargeable?
Did you charge the batteries before trying to use them?
Did you read the startup flyer that usually comes with new cameras and
scanners, There is usually some shipping material you must remove before you
can use a new camera or Scanner.

Yes, the batteries are freshly recharged. The instruction doesn't mention
about shipping materials to remove, there is no special startup flyer.

Did you look at the manuals that are in PDF form on the CD?
One is PowerShot A540 / A530 Manuals Camera User Guide Basic
Page 3 and 4 of the of the above manual in the PDF file have the preparation
of the camera for use.
The manuals are also available here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=SupportDetailAct&fcat...ryid=22
Click on Product / Software Manuals
What about contacting the place where you bought the camera. You could get
support or maybe an exchange.

I've returned the camera to the shop. Now they have a problem :/
But I am still not sure if it is an iternal failure or I've missed something
important about first run.

There has been a recall with this camera on specific serial numbered models
having a bad hinge spring on the battery door causing a short circuit.
