It seems if I want to take a close up, it tells me I'm too close, so was
looking at the closeup lens on the Canon site. It says you can get as close
as 9 inches, but $125 on there site, and can't find anyone who has it that
might be cheaper. Would like the Tele Photo too, but more $$, but wondering
if at least if the closeup is worth getting, sugestions ?

The Canon closeup lens is like +4 diopter, but there is available sets
of 3 (+4, +2 and +1 - and they can be stacked and are can be found in
many different thread sizes) that could do the job equaly well, but
maybe at a somewhat lower quality or have a little different
(correctable) colour (but more flexible):

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.lensmateonline.com/G2start.html" target="_blank">http://www.lensmateonline.com/G2start.html</a>

....which also mentions a smaller-than-Canons lens-adapter with 52mm
thread... and the possible use of smaller tele-converters (even the
one they sell ) - but beware of vignetting at all-but the longest
focal length...

It seems like if you buy accessories for Gx-series, it can be used
with later models, at least my TC-DC52 is the same as with the
A10/20/30/40 used with my A60. I just hope they continue with that
practise a while longer...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
