I am trying to make up my mind if I should go for the Sony DSC828 or
Digital Rebel 300, I only use it to take pictures while flying, not
much else, the Sony has got that cool 28-200 MM lens, seems easier to
handle with one hand, and the much higher price of a similar Canon
lens is holding me back, since the Sony lens does pretty good for me,
I am using a DSC707 right now.
Is there a lot of difference in image quality using the MM range lens?
Color, Resolution, White Balance Mgmt., Light Metering?
Please look at some of my images for a better idea of what I need the
camera for, I am a helicopter pilot and just like to take pictures of
places I go to.

help! >> Stay informed about: Canon Digital Rebel 300 vs. Sony 828 |

You should consider the Nikopn 5700 and the new Minolta A-1.
The new Minolta's anti-shake featuire will likely be a very big deal for you
in a non-steady platform and using one hand.
To get the anti-shake feature otherwise takes a Canon or Nikon SLR with
interchangeable lenses at a much higher price.... better camera,
but maybe the better sensor and features is not worth it for your use.

Both are good cameras. Sony 828 with carl zeiss lens and an 8megapixel
with good zoom vs the canon which is a true digital slr, depends on your
needs. Do you need to be able to use interchangeable lenses? Ever need
the option to do further than 200mm? Fairly comparable cameras other
than the interchangeable lenses other than the sony can also use memory
stick, memory stick pro & compact flash. For prosumer cameras most
people use high speed compact flash anyways as the cost for memory stick
pro is still to high. If you need more flexibility go with the canon
otherwise probably would go with sony otherwise since you already own a
sony and are probably fairly comfortable with it. >> Stay informed about: Canon Digital Rebel 300 vs. Sony 828 |

Minolta A1? found the quality for a camera in this range to be fairly
poor when compared to other cameras in its range, I used this camera and
the nikon 5700 & sony dscf717. Minolta i found images under same
setting were the worst the nikon & sony were pretty close >> Stay informed about: Canon Digital Rebel 300 vs. Sony 828 |

I see that you did go for the Digital Rebel - I just noticed this message
and have to reply.
I do not understand your language, but I checked your website and wanted you
to know that your photos are wonderful. I am sure you will get even more
sensational shots with you new camera
