There is a new and different 'top of the line' brand just about every
few weeks. Canon is definitely NOT considered the top of the line,
most of the time.

Oh! And is the EOS 1D a good SLR Camera?
I'm thinking of getting one soon.

Matter of opinion. The camera you own or lust for is the best camera. I went
from a Nikon to the Canon Drebel and I'm very happy with it.Therefore, Canon is
#1

The list is constantly shuffling... If you're looking at digital SLRs, then
check out the lens selection as well as camera features. Also, since each
photographer wants/needs different features, it's best to consider what
kind of pictures you want to take under what conditions, then research to
find which camera best meets your needs. There's several good digital
camera review web sites that'll help with your research.

I like www.dpreview.com for researching. Be sure to check out the forums on
the various cameras as well to get actual users' experiences.

Try a Hassleblad H series with Kodak digital back, only about $US18,000.
Must be pretty good! (PS, much of the components are made by Fuji!)
