Post subject: Cbox3 problem
Hi,
i have a cbox3 on zenith ultra 7njs with no cd drive from rma.i downloaded all the files from the site.My card reader works fine but my handigator doesn't!in device manager an unknown usb device is installed as unknown device!do i need any other driver for that device?your CIR is displayed as a device in device manager? can anyone share the driver cd somewhere because here in greece the mobo is no more at shops so no more support???And from chaintech i don't have any reply yet... so please help...!

i forgot to mension that the WOL cable is pluged and bios enabled!the problem is that the system founds an unknown device. During the installation of the unknown device it pops a message that the device is not recognized and mulfunctioned!as i read in the forum it should be found as HID composite device with mouse and keyboard.What should i do to find it correctly?i Use cbox2 cables because i don't have it's cables is that an issue?

i did a little snooping around the web today. i have a 7njs but with the cbox2. i have a handigator that came with my chaintech cinema card but it's usb/rf and not irf.

have you tried uninstalling through device manager and rebooting? what bios are you using? i notice version 6 states it fixed a auto wake up on lan issue. what windows os are you using?

if you have one of the older bios it might be worth a shot to upgrade. i use version 9 without any problems.

i would guess the device drivers are included in the cbox3 drivers.

as long as the pins are matched up correctly, using whatever wire connector it should work.

if you don't get anywhere and don't get a reply from your chaintech email, let me know. i have a direct email to a chaintech rep in the u.s..

I have the latest BIOS installed 13/8/2004 9.0!I uninstalled it and reboot and it found an unrecognised device because it might malfuctioned... and then it installs an unknown usb device driver for this device!My CBOX3 is from a pentiums zenith is there any incomatibility???4 days now only error messages i get from hotmail tha my mail faild to send so it would be helpfull if you send an email for me....thx a lot my friends for your tries!!!!

And the reply

For the handigator to be activated, you must first connect the WOL wire

>CN5 of the motherboard to CN7 on the CBOX3. Than go to your BIOS and select
>Power Managent-->Wake on Event--->Enable WOL. Your handigator will work.

So they didn't even read my mail so i resend

As i write above these settings are set correctly!the cable is installed
right and the option from the BIOS enabled!Windows founds a new device but
it found it as an unknown device!CBOX3 is from pentiums zenith is it
compatible with AMD zenith?I have the latest BIOS installed

and the reply.....

Dear Sir,

If bottom instructions did not work, please order a new cbox3 from
service.DeleteThis@chaintechusa.com. Include your model, serial number and return
mailing address.

They call this support????

What should i do next??? What do you suggest????

Pentiums zenith and AMD's CBOX3 are compatible?

and i finaly got a reply!!!!! :

The Cbox3 will work, but the handigator will not work since it uses a
different infrared signal.

That's all!!!!

so if you have 7njs don't buy used CBOX3 from 9CJS ZENITH infrared it won't work!!!!
