I am using Colorific for monitor calibration purpose. This is not a
professional solution, by all means. It is however better than nothing. The
Matrox P650 is shipping with Coloreal (R), which is supported by some other
manufacturers and a host of websites, including National Geographic.
I am a prospective student in colour management. I have experienced
frustrating issues with Colorific (R) and especially the fact that the
calibration is reset everytime I reboot my PC. The same happens now with my
Matrox P650.
Nonetheless I consider that Colorific (R) is (perhaps) more "elaborate" - I
would dare to say "accurate" - than Coloreal (R). For instance, Coloreal
(R) does not include a vinyl piece to apply on the monitor to compare the
colours. Coloreal includes a very good utility, though, to calibrate two
monitors at once.
I am interested to read more about colour calibration with Coloreal and
Colorific, how they perform comparatively. And perhaps about other superior
solutions, as well.
- Frederic.
