I am planning to purchase a new Nikon Coolpix 4300 camera which takes
compact flash media.
I want to purchase a 256MB compact flash card for it, but don't know
much about the different brands that are available.
Some of the brand names that I have found available are Viking, PNY,
SanDisk, and Lexar. Are any of these brands "cheaper" as far as
quality? I believe that the Viking and SanDisk have lifetime
warranties, but I'm not positive, and I don't know about the other
brands. Also, the Lexar brand that I found at an OfficeMax ($49.95
after $10 Rebate for 256MB card) said that it had "12x speed" for
faster photo recording.
Is there a big difference in the recording speed, and can anyone tell
me if the Nikon 4300 would be able to take advantage of the "12x
speed" card?
Thanks for any advice or feedback.

Irecently bought a Transcend 512Mb CF card. Don't let the popular names fool
you. There is a vast difference in the speed of these cards. The Transcend
is one of the faster brands. I bought it mainly because it was the fastest
card I could get for a good price on ebay. I paid $110 shipping included.
