Configure MX900 mouse buttons w/o using Logitech bluetooth..

Sure, try a different mouse driver. That is, from another
manufacturer. You'd then go into that interface and assign
buttons as desired for any not defaulting as you need. It
won't give you the indication on remaining (mouse) battery

Does it "need" to be a driver specifically for an "8-button
bluetooth mouse"... that corresponds to MX900?

Once you have the bluetooth portion working doesn't it
emulate a standard mouse in function? If so, wouldn't *any*
mouse driver work, all you need to do is merely choose one
that supports so many buttons (or at least as many as you
"need")?

What I mean is, if you haven't tried installing a standard
mouse driver yet, try it. For example Logitech Mouseware or
MS Intellipoint. So far as 'corresuponds', that's why you'd
go into the control panel and change any button assignments
as needed.

If that doesn't work then I'm out of ideas but if you
provide more info it might help others determine some

Indeed, the idea was pretty good. However I tried to install Mouseware
(which only let me configure some basic 3-button mouse functions, as
Logitech has other software for their more advanced mice, like the
non-functioning Setpoint) and MS Intellipoint (which just didn't
recognize the mouse, no matter what I tried).

So... here I am... advanced MX900 with no buttons to be configured.
Only thing I can think of now is to replace my Toshiba bluetooth stack
with the Widcomm, as Logitech says their Setpoint software will run
when using "WIDCOMM Bluetooth software BTW 1.4.2.21 or above". Anybody
knows how to do this (or does anybody have other ideas)?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
