Post subject: Connecting to wireless router

Hi, my problem is I can't get my Toshiba tecra a3/s2 series laptop with it's built in Intel pro/wirelesss 2200bg to connect to my Netgear wgr614 router.

The details seem to defy logic. They are:

- built in adapter seems to work sinse it connects through neighbours router fine.

- router seems to work since i can connect to it using x-micro usb wireless adapter.

- when I plug usb adapter into laptop and connect it to my router, the built in adapter magically fixes itself and connects to the router. (the connection isn't a fictitious one at that sinse the router shows two devices with different macs). When i dissable or unplug the x-micro one, the built in one dissconnects again. I've turned encription off for the time being. Laptop's running xp.

How is this possible? What's the problem? What am i doing wrong?

Any help/ideas appriciated
