Okay, I have posted about a half dozen questions about the Crosshair mobo
and have seen pretty much zippo replies. Does anybody else have this board?
Seriously, it wierds me out, because even the strangest, way out there and
even obvious answer posts get some reply. Anybody have one, used one, seen
one , heard of one? I did get one reply about a month ago asking if I
"meant a Crossfire". and no I don't, I'm talking about the Crosshair mobo
from Asus. Thanks! Smile

Not always, but usually if you poast a query and don't get an answer it
means that nobody has personal experience on the subject. I take it that you
have not bothered to visit the ASUS site or even type "asus crosshair
motherboard" into Google and had a look through the several million hits for
that motherboard?

motherboards

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

sunday night

be very carefull when configuring a new system using the crosshair
motherboard as the motherboard has a lot of bugs and issues as i have found
personally corsair xms memory works fine all other ram is hit and miss also
dont manually configure low timmings on the memory and also you may find
that you may not be able to install windows on the first attempt

but apart from that after about 7 days in the hands of the awesome
techs at scopiontech thanks guys .

it seems to be stabe at the moment anyway hoping i dont see anymore
bluescreens for the moment anyway (touchwood)

so be very carefull when buying a new pc using the crosshair
motherboard .

moday arvo brings errors.

I cant handle owning this motherboard it still has a lot of errors
sata hdd errors memory voltage errors NB voltage errors with my
configuration it should work but it doesnt
my system config is:

asus crosshair 590sli
am2 fx62 cpu
2 gig corsair xms ddr2 800 memory
thermaltake 750watt power supply
BFG 7900gtx grafixs card
western digital 320gig sata2 16meg x3
maxtor sata 200gig x1
thermaltake armour silver pc case

it is all straight forward parts and the system still doesnt work
properly
after 3 replacment motherboards
1. hanging bios, voltage etc
2.doa on the bench
3. still has a lot of errors and the mobo seems to be slowly dieing
well that is what it seem like anyway

beware when buying the asus crosshair motherboard

Did both! The Asus forums have next to nothing about this, by the way. I
tried every keyword that might be related. Thanks for the thought!
Google search didn't have much either. I am slow but not stupid Smile

Aha! Thanks that is very interesting and yet sucky! Smile I do,thankfully
have Corsair XMS RAM (2 1GB boards). I know this is kind of a newer board
but it came highly rated in all the reviews (on-line and magazine) and was
actually commented as being "the best ASUS board out there for AMD
solution". I went with AMD (FX-62) about a month before Intel core duo came
out. Damn, wished I'd waited a few days now. I may swap out for an Intel
solution with 6700 duo core, if this mobo/cpu doesn't work well. Thank you
again for the reply!

I agree in a fashion. I would like to play with this board but as a
Pensioner and with the price of this board at AU $400 it is out of my reach.
I would have liked to see a lot more feedback to your questions but it would
seem that not too many people have tried this board and that obviously
explains the lack of replies.
As an aside, I have read reviews in the Computer Magazines re a certain
piece of hardware or software saying it was the greatest thing since sliced
bread but in fact you wouldn't buy it to throw at a dog.
Word of mouth in groups such as this is worth it's weight in gold.
