Mike,
I downloaded the V414.zip from the suggested website, which when unzipped,
contained a "cdrom.sys" driver file ---- supposedly a dos driver. After
editing the config.sys file on my startup disk to include this as the driver
file, and also copying the file to the startup disk, a step-by-step boot
stalled out at this respective line in the config.sys sequence. This driver
apparently wasn't being properly recognized.
I did locate another LiteOn dos driver file (Ltnide.sys) ---- and using this
in my config.sys file in place of the cdrom.sys, the CD drive was recognized
and I was able to activate my CD ResQ backup program. However, the
Ltnide.sys driver file apparently is only for "reading" type drives ---- not
for "writing" drives. After initiating the backup command to start the CD
recording sequence in my CD ResQ program, I was presented with the displayed
statement "No CD-R drive detected: Result 0"!!!
So back to the search for a dos driver for a CD "burner" drive.
Thanks to all for your assistance ---- at least I've made some progress and
am optimistic that it will be possible to get the CD ResQ program to
work ---- with the right dos driver.
Anyone out there with info on where to get one?
