The PVR250 uses the ITVC15/Conexant 2341x chip, not the more common
BT8x8 chip used in most other Hauppage products, and that chip is not
supposed to provide anything but compressed output. This is fine for
many applications but not for all.
Would you care to provide the name of a piece of free software that will
record to AVI using a PVR-250, and provide the link to the statement
that it will do so? Not that it will output AVI using some other board
and will provide some kind of output using the PVR-250 but that it will
specifically output AVI from the PVR-250. I can't find any and I
suspect that without your guidance the OP will have equal difficulty.
