Hi

Installed Triplex GF4 mx440 in neighbours machine (old 300MHz Celeron,
Win98SE) but supports AGP. Card works fine with no drivers. Install Nvidia
drivers, reboot the PC and during the restart the machine reboots and will
only start in safemode, ie no drivers.

Any ideas?

thanks chrisz

Which nVidia driver did you install? Hopefully nothing more recent than the
45.23 driver. That card is not stable with the latest drivers.

Do they have Direct X 9 installed? Does the motherboard manufacturer have
updated AGP drivers?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Appears to use standard windows agp support, check mb site and no agp
drivers. Also Direct X not installed at that point.

Also see additional post

problem solved, went back to supplier, tried another card still same issue
so not a problem with the specific card.

Tried Radeon 9200 and all OK- Appears to be incompatability with MB and
nvidia 440MX or drivers.

Thanks for all help
