Possibly the most irritating PC fault is when some of the keyboard keys
become intermittent (I suspect a drink was knocked over it).

Easily solved though....or that's what I thought. I simply bought a
replacement from PCWorld.

However, when installed, it produces a boot up error 'Keyboard error Press
F1 to continue', accompanied by numerous beeps (that error message deserves
a prize, I mutter to myself every time). I have not been able to progress
any further and appeal for help. I've found nothing to help resolve on the
web. I have to revert to the faulty one. I cannot blame a faulty port
because it is in use for the original keyboard.
- It is a PS/2 keyboard on the PS/2 keyboard port (the same as the faulty
one).
- I have checked the new keyboard on another PC, it is fine.

All 805,000 of them?

How about "bios beep code" (with or without the quotes)
