Has anyone had problems with using Matrox PC-VCR with Windows XP SP2? I've
had this weird problem develop ever since I installed SP2. After a reboot,
I can open PC-VCR and close it fine no problem the first time. If I load
PC-VCR again, it's fine until I want to turn it off. When I exit the PC-VCR
program, my whole computer reboots itself. I just did a fresh reinstall
with SP2 and the problem still persists. Has anyone experienced the same?

I've had exactly the same problem. No idea what to do about it.
Reloaded PC-VCR several times to no avail. Checked microsoft
and matrox websites but have found no help.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did your problems only start after installing SP2 as well? I started a
thread on the Matrox Support Forums here:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://forum.matrox.com/mga/viewtopic.php?t=12703." target="_blank">http://forum.matrox.com/mga/viewtopic.php?t=12703.</a> Please register/logon
and say you have the same problems. Maybe if enough people complain, Matrox
will fix it.

Add me to your list of perplexed g450-etv users. I have duplicated your exact problem on 3 new machines running XP SP2. I have read every bit of info I can find, and haven't found a solution yet. I will be ghosting the setup on at least 3 more machines. I would love to know if there is a fix, or if you are just putting up with the annoying re-boot?

It is not perplexing, but a known problem and yes, we have to put up with the annoying reboot!

One of Matrox's support staff, PeterB, has told me 'Those were the final release of drivers for the eTV. We no longer offer support for this product.'. So, 3 year old drivers that fail on a modern OS (we all know that SP2 is essential) are not going to be patched & we, who have spent our hard-earned money on Matrox products are not to be supported! Anyone find this acceptable? I don't. Other G450 cards have updated drivers to deal with this problem, but not the eTV, even though it is still on sale (see for example: http://www.dealclick.co.uk/product/172364/Matrox-Marvel-G450-eTV.php where it is on sale for 150 GB pounds).
