Post subject: Gigabyte GA-5AA
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>giga-byte (more info?)

I recently purchased an old Gigabyte GA-5AA motherboard to use with an
amd k62 300 cpu. The board came with a pentiumn 166 and booted fine.
To my surprise however when i put the amd chip in and set up the
correct jumpers and switches it wouldnt boot. I was fortunate enough
to have a intel 233 mmx and an ibm 233 as well which I know all work
perfectly and have been taken out, and returned to working boxes also
wont boot. I was wondering if someone could enlighten me as to what I
am missing here. According to the mb book there are only 4 jumpers and
8 switches that need to be adjusted for the different cpus and I am
100% for each cpu I set those right. I then thought there must be
something in the bios but alas no joy. Any theories would be
greatfully accepted Smile
