My machine has a nVidia 6200 card. I don't do any gaming, but I do quite a
bit of TV/video using Beyond TV from an OTA signal. The other stuff is just
routine office work, web surfing and some image editing.

I'm considering replacing my card (need AGP) with a 'mainstream' card and I
was wondering if I would benefit by going with one of the subject cards? Is
it worth the cost to replace the nVidia? Which one would be the better
choice for my needs?

TIA,

Wayne

I'd suggest you leave that card in place and put in a separate tuner card.
The link below lists the one's that are compatible...

Agustus,

I forgot to mention that I do have a Snapstream compatible HDTV card (KWorld

The new HD cards claim an improved video acceleration for
H.264 and the newer video formats, which could be a
consideration. If your video is playing well and looks good
now, it's not likely you will notice much improvement, though.

Luck;
Ken
