Post subject: HEX versus ASCII serial commands to control a Projector over RS232
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>networking (more info?)

I am trying to control a projector (inforcus LP770) using a serial (rs232c)
cable, but with no success. The hardware is fine- i.e. cable is good
(checked continuity, used crossover between TX and RX, and use the proper
net settings), but I am not able to get any response fropm the projector.
The badly written guide gives commands in HEX and in ASCII- my question- how
do I send a HEX command using a terminal emulation program?

My apologies if this has been sent to the wrong group.
