Post subject: High CPU% with CD-ROM on P4I875P D2
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>soyo (more info?)

I am using a Plextor PlexWriter 1210A with a SOYO P4I875P Dragon 2 mobo.
Great board.
However Nero's drivespeed is reporting a CPU usage of 20%-35% when reading
from the PlexWriter. Is that normal? I have installed the latest Intel
chipset drivers (the PlexWriter is hooked up to IDE2 on the ICHR5 by itself,
no slave device, using Multi-Word DMA 2).

For comparison, I am using a Pioneer DVR-105 on an ASUS A7N8X mobo, and this
combination is reporting a CPU usage of 1%-2% !!!
