Looking at getting a 1GB storage media for Canon Digital Rebel. Any
recommendations on a microdrive device vs. a card? Most concerned about
write speed and reliability. Does the microdrive kill the battery faster?

A microdrive:

- is not that fast (just check the Rob Galbraith CF Performanced
Database entry for your camera) - the high-priced Extreme is just 20%
faster though
- does use more power
- has moveable parts (as it's a tiny harddisk) - which can/will/could
break if dropped

+ is cheaper per MB
+ good price vs performance ratio

I have a Crucial Memory 1gb Compact flash. It's fast enough.

The microdrive may be a little cheaper, but it's a more complex device with
moving parts, it can't live as long as solid memory.

I'd like a 6gb one though!
