IC7-Max3 "Disk Read Error"

Today I got 2 SATA drives, hooked them up to SATA1 and SATA2. Went into BIOS
and Enable the RAID controller, and setup my boot priority.
Then I went into the Intel Raid Setup screen (CTRL+I) and setup my disks as
a RAID0.

Next I started the windows setup, Pressed F6 when it asked, and loaded the
Intel SATA Drivers.
Windows goes through and formats the drive, copies files over to it (or
atleast it says it does), then after it's first reboot, and comes back and
gives me the error "Disk Read Error Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to Reboot"
If I reboot, it just does the same thing.

So, next I confirmed that the drivers I was loading matched the Intel Raid
version, and they do (Version 3.5.0.2568). I also downloaded the drivers
onto another floppy from Abit's site, to make sure they weren't curropt.

Next I tried installing the O/S once on each drive as a non-raid...Which
worked. So that must mean my cables/drives are good.

I've also tried recreating the raid several times, has no effect on it.

What could be causing this?
In BIOS I have:
Advanced Features:
Hard Disk Boot Priority: Onboard SATA
1st boot device: CD-ROM
2nd boot device: HD
Integrated Peripherals > OnChip IDE Device:
IDE Bus Master - Enabled
IDE-1 - Enabled, all settings AUTO
IDE-2 - Enabled, all settings AUTO

OnChip Serial ATA Mode: RAID
SATA RAID ROM - ENABLED
OnChip Serial ATA - Enhanced
Intergrated Peripherals > Onboard PCE Device
Sata Controller - Disabled

I'm using the latest BIOS (13), not overclocking.

try setting the IDE Bus Master to enabled. try setting boot sequence (not
boot priority) to SCSI but I doubt that this will have any effect...
