Yeah, just something in general but this might help. Check that the video
card is inserted properly. Some cards just don't want to fit in some slots
so this might be your problem. Another card in the IC7 is OK and so is the
Gainward on another mobo so I'd check this first. There might be some
components on the mobo or on the card which keep the card in wrong
postition. I bumped just lately into this, I got a "defect" GF2 GTS which
had one of its components dropped off the board by forcing it into an AGP
slot. If inserted properly, it would go too deep considering the components
so one of them just simply fell off. Another point worth looking at is the
bracket - is properly seated? If it is bent in some way it might cause your
(or in this case your friend's) problems.
One more thing: the PSU. Maybe it does not give enough juice for the FX5900
but can still feed the GF3?
