Johnny,
No, the utility you identified has to do with Wake On Lan (WOL), not Boot
Integrity Service (BIS) and Pre eXecution Environment (PXE). However I went
back to the Compaq/HP web site and by searching harder I found the answer. For
some odd reason it appears that some releases of the BIOS upgrade package
install a new PXE extension and others do not. Initially I upgraded to 3.14A
which was the latest version I could find but when I examined the descriptions
of older versions, e.g. 3.13A I saw that it installs a new version of PXE
whereas other later versions such as 3.14A do not. By downgrading from 3.14A to
3.13A I got PXE to work. I think now that a working PXE is installed it is
possible to upgrade again to 3.14A because I don't think its installer will wipe
out the existing PXE. The link to 3.13A is:

I want to use a Compaq DeskPro EN P866 with remote boot via PXE. When I
configure the machine for network boot I get a PXE-E05 error "The LAN
adapter's
configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized. The Boot Agent
cannot
continue." I don't see anything in my BIOS to "initialize" the
configuration
other than an enable/disable item. The few web resource I found for this
message suggest that I need to reflash the embedded Intel BIS ROM. I have
already reflashed the machine's system BIOS to the latest version but that
didn't change anything. I could not find BIS ROMs on Intel's web site.
Does
anyone know where I should look?
