Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>video (more info?)

I am looking for a way to reverse/invert the colors that display on my
monitor and was hoping that someone out there might have a good idea
on how to do that. My issue is that I have a problem with my eyes so
that most of the Windows color schemes are dificult for me to see. I
have been using the High Contrast Black color scheme and that works
about 90% of the time. However, depending on how the application/web
page is coded, about 10% of the time text simply is not displayed
because it is trying to display black text on a black background.

What I am looking for is a way to control the video display so that
the colors are reversed/inverted, similar to the Invert Colors option
in Windows Paint or Windows Magnifier applications. I figure this way,
I could set the Windows color scheme to the standard Windows colors,
but the colors that would actually display on the screen would be
reversed/inverted colors. For example, the standard blank white window
that appears when you open a new session of Notepad would appear as a
blank black window.

I thought my best bet would be to find a video card that had the
reverse/invert colors option, but I have not been able to find one. I
had also looked for a monitor that had that option built in, but have
been unable to find one with that option.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Daivd.

There is no easy way to "invert" colors via the display,
in the vast majority of monitors. You would need to do
this via the appropriate software (and I have NO idea where
you would find such) on the PC.
