usb cdrw

Model# CDDVD4824416E23

upgraded computer from Win 98 to Win XP service pack 2,did clean
install, When I connected CD to USB it recognized it as
cddvd52316E23-B, said there was an error loading driver and will not
work,
when hooking up to different computer it finds it as "Lite on combo
SOHC-5232K" and works fine, this computer has Win XP service pack 1

can not find a way to make the first computer recognize it, it was
working fine with Win98

any ideas?
