How do I setup a raid 0+1 configuration using the ASUS k8V deluxe
MoBo.
I currently have 2 SATA Hd's (WD250JD) on the Promise controller.
You can treat me like a newbe because I am when it comes to Raid
configurations.
Also, yes I did read the Manual but they are not completly descriptive
on this setup, well not for a newbe to raid.

RAID 0+1 is also known as RAID 10, and that requires a minimum of 4
hd's to impliment. It's possible that the option won't become
available in the bios setup till it sees the required number of drives
for the configuration that you are attempting to setup.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can do it on the serial controller.
If you go to the Asus site and click on K8V deluxe in the "Hot products"
section, you will find an overview "Dual Sata Raid" and see that for Serial
raid they only state Raid 0 and 1. Under parallel it states that you can
have Raid 0, Raid 1 and Raid 0+1 functions.

Sorry for not being clear, But I will be adding 2 more WD250JB hard
drives and connect them to the Promise IDE Raid Controller. I wasn't
thinking correctly on the origional post. I think I have everything
set as far as my setup but from everything I have read I will have to
just re install everything after this changeover, too bad when I add
the 2 new drives to the system it just won't copy the information from
the old to the new.

But if anyone has done this and knows a work around that would be
great.
