Thanks for the information.
I got a K9N Platinum SLI and started it up yesterday, and the heatsink
gets indeed hot after a few minutes. As long as it does not affect
stability, it's probably OK, although having a piece of hot aluminum
inside the PC is not the most comforting feeling for me. I haven't
done much testing yet, and will not have time to do that soon, but I
will revisit the issue in a few weeks and will see how hot it gets in
normal use. I may swap it out for an old Zalman NB47J from my PC
junkyard, as the board seems to have matching mounting holes.
