Post subject: KK266R & AMD 2100XP CPU

Hi

I'm having trouble getting this CPU to work in my board. I understand the
limitation so RAM/PSU (133Mhz SDRAM/350W) etc however, has anyone else had
experience of this working OK. I have the latest XP BIOS with the 14x
multiplier so in theory it should work. If the board can't handle the speed
can it default to a lower speed automatically with the chip not unlocked or
can it only run at 2100 ?

Thanks

John

Make sure you have a Palomino-core Athlon. The Athlon 2100 processor
was available first with a Palomino core, then later they released a
newer Thoroughbred-core one. The T-bred will not work on the KK266R. I
had a Palomino 2100 in mine at one point and it worked fine.
